This is a great video, and this guy is known for doing honest battery drain tests on top flagship smartphones, and let's the results speak for themselves.

I was surprised by the winner;

Interesting results, somewhat not surprised by the winner. Pathetic performance by the iPhone's, especially the 8 Plus.

Wow, V30 beat the OP5. Nice.

Seems the iPhone 8+ is worst than the 7+. Glad I kept my 7+.

Where is the s8?
Did not expect the iPhone X to have the nicest display. But you can really see how much brighter it is than the competition.

Not really fair to have all the other oled display black except the iPhone X for an hour.

I think the iPhone X actually did really well in that test. It wasn't that far behind the other much larger phones, and for it's the size the X fared really well in the battery tests. And the X isn't Apple's Plus size OLED phone, that's coming next year, so imagine an X Plus with a bigger battery, and the A12 chip, I predict that being a battery champion beast.

They just used the music player. Maybe if Apple stopped having their music player be bright white?

The V30, other than the Display issues is severely underated, it's a brilliant piece of kit.

The problem is that it's such an understated device and LG are still terrible at marketing.
Agreed.

LG is more quietly innovative than HTC. The problem is they quietly market their devices and nobody notices them. Like I said before, my 2017 combo would be V30 & X if I had to buy two phones released this year.

But I'm cool with G5 & SE with V20 at home for most of the browsing and media streaming. Too large for me to carry around since I use a holster case and it broke the strap when I mistakenly put it on my left hip.

No matter how great the Note8 is, I just can't carry around a device like that with me against my hip.

My iPhone X (despite its flaws that make me hate it) actually does not disappoint in battery life. Which is surprising because the 6S Plus was the worst phone I've ever had it when it comes to battery.

I'm happy with the battery life I get from my Note 8. What I hate is the deterioration that comes with batteries and having shorter & shorter runtime between charges. When our devices now cost approaching £1000 it's ludicrous that their longevity is determined by a £10 battery. It's about time we could easily replace them and then all this fretting about batteries could be disposed of. Most phones are glued together and get scratched or worse just opening them up. It's ridiculous. We should be able to slide in a new battery like we slide in a SIM. The manufacturers could easily put a waterproof door in the casing.

Absolutely agreed. It's not fair at all.

I am also quite happy with the Note8 battery life, but with the way that I use this phone so heavily I do worry that the battery will deteriorate quicker as I do a lot more on it than previous phones and therefore often charge it to.
