What to do if it's possible a malicious/jealous Ex has installed parental or other tracking software?

What are the clues to look for, or tools that can detect "parental monitoring" software that has been installed on an iOS device?

There are no legitimate parental or tracking software that can be installed on Apple devices w/out the user being able to see they have been installed. There would be icons, or settings, or MDM profile. I highly doubt a "malicious/jealous Ex" has the money resources to pay for a 0-day hack to surreptitiously install malicious tracking malware on an iPhone.

Here's a few things you should watch out for on iOS.

🟠 means your microphone is active
🟢 means your camera is active
If you see a blue pill-shaped indicator in the top right corner of the iPhone it means your device's audio, display, or location information are being sent off of your device to a remote server.
Also, you can check Settings -> General -> VPN & Device Management to see if there are any profiles installed on the device that you were unaware of.
