Just checked out the new Deus Ex 3: Human Machine trailer and it got me thinking about the fun times I had with the original on my old eMac.

Any hope of a native OS X version when number 3 comes out?

Would be nice. I still consider the original Deus Ex to be the best game ever made. Trailer for the new one looks promising!

Last month I would have said 'NFW ... or if it does it will be 3 years later for $50 when the PC version costs $5' ... but now I'm not sure ... can always hope, sounds from previews like a possible return to form after the abysmal Invisible War.

tbh Invisible War wasn't a bad game...just far, far inferior to DX.

Well, pretty much anything's going to look bad compared to the original Deus Ex. Still, IW was pretty horrible from what I played of it. The original Deus Ex is probably the best game ever IMO, along with Morrowind.

My fingers are crossed. For many reasons.

First of all, I agree DE1 was the best game ever made. It makes me sad that I cant play it on my intel mac.

Secondly, Invisible War was a decent game, but when you compare a "decent" game to the apex of modern video games, it looks like crap.

Thirdly because I hold DE1 in such high regards, im extremely apprehensive about how this new one will turn out. Regardless I'll buy it and play it.

And finally, I haven't heard anything about a mac version. I wonder if there is something we as fans could do to help motivate eidos to bring it to mac. I'd much prefer to play it on my computer than my xbox.

You know, I didn't like it. (DX1)

Mostly because of my seeming inability to get head shots, and subsequent quick deaths.

And probably the fact I played it just a year or so ago, so considered the graphics crap, and was playing it through a crappy cider wrapper, with subsequent constant crashes.

NOTE: Never did figure out how to get head shots. I shoot guys in the head (point blank) and they just go ouch... what's up with that???

I absolutely love the Deus Ex series, one of the only series remaining that isn't just a console game ported over to PC.

Number 1 is probably on my top 5 list...

1. EverQuest (1999-2003, after that the new content sucked)
2. Deus Ex - 2000
3. Age of Empires II: The Conquerors Expansion - 2000
4. The King's Quest series - 1985-1995
5. Killing Time - 1996

PC industry has seriously sucked due to pirating and lazy developers.

Will Deus Ex 3 most likely run on the computer in my sig?

Petition much?

You know, I seem to remember a petition going around a couple years ago, for DE1 to be brought to Intel Macs, and as I recall there were quite a few signers. It was sadly to no avail. Maybe ill go on petitiononline.com and start one for this new cause. It makes me wonder though... which would be more effective: a ton of emails flooding their inbox, or a couple thousand signatures on a digital petition?

Online petitions are worthless. If you really want DX3 for Mac, then take a piece of paper and pen and write down your wish and send it to the publisher and/or developer of the game. And tell other Mac DX fans to do the same.

As for the game itself... I'm a huge fan of Deus Ex 1. I still consider it among the best games ever made, topped with awesome soundtrack. Sadly, what I have so far heard about DX3 makes it seem like your average console FPS game that most likely won't have any of those things that made DX1 so awesome.

I loved Deus Ex as well, too bad it can't be played on OSX.
I think it's still installed on my G4. If i'm not mistaken it ran pretty smooth on a 400 Mhz with GeForce 4MX (i tossed the original Ati Rage, which was horrible compared to the GF4)

Yep, totaly agree. :)

Maybe so, cross fingers we we'll be surprised. As for a version of the game suitable for Mac, I don't remember at which point of the game production Deus Ex 1 x Mac was released, but it seems to me that now it's not really a priority for EM.
