In 14 Days my developer account ends and would need renewing. This last year I have not sold $99 + Apples 30% they take for the sales. I tend to make apps just for my own use but if I don;t pay the $99 I can't use my own apps.

Since I have nothing planed to create and sell in the app store I am considering Jail breaking my phone which is legal.

Can I still use Xcode to create apps and test on a JB phone and use my current apps I have already created?

Thanks!

As far as i know..
If you have downloaded your apps from the app store, you can still use them, if they have not been downloaded from the app store , when your membership runs out, your profile certificate runs out and your apps won't run.

Yes you can but not through Xcode. You have to install your apps in the jailbreak way. I Haven't had a jailbroken device since ios4 so sure there are better tools now.

This might help: Otherwise, I'd do a search. It seems that there should be a way for a programmer to make programs for themselves, but that doesn't seem to be the case without jailbreaking.

Back in the old days, you'd write any program you wanted and gave (or sell) to anyone you wanted. Now, Apple has become the new software store and it doesn't work for small simple programs for a small group.
