Okay here's the short of it...
I'm developing a home automation app for the iPhone/iPod and I'd really love for it to have some professional looking icons... I'm thinking 10-20 icons in total. The market for this app will be quite small I'm afraid and as such I don't have any real anticipation that I'd even make back the time I spent on it let alone have any profits... **but** at the same time if I'm going to do something I'm going to try my best to do it right... and IMAGE is everything, I don't need to tell you guys this...
My hope is to find a fellow Home Automation fan who turns out to be a great Mac graphics designer (or at least plays on on the net)...
Short of that... What could I expect to spend on 10 to 20 custom designed icons that I'd be putting into my application?
Finally if anyone just wants to PM me and make an offer I'm all ears...
I'm looking for a 'matching set' of 'elegant' 28x28 icons (something you expect to see on the iPhone/iPod!) that I can use in a list of household devices that are automated... (mostly lamps and light switches) A Lamp? A Lightbulb? A Wall Switch? A Coffee Maker? A TV? 28x28 isn't all that huge so I'm not expecting the world... I'd expect them all to complement each other and I'd need 2 icons ... 1 for an ON state and 1 for an OFF state. So a grey lightbulb and a bright yellow one... a light switch ugh I don't know how you'd do that.. the little toggle would be WAY to small to recognize maybe the color of the 'switch plate itself'? Same idea for Coffee Maker and TV.
Second I'm looking for some icons that can be used in my 'main menu'...
1 - About
2 - Device List
3 - Lighting Scenes
4 - Programs
5 - Variables
6 - Preferences
Finally I'm also looking for a 57x57 (I think) icon for the App logo... again something 'home automation' related... My app controls an Universal-Devices ISY-26 or ISY-99 home automation controller that in turn controls INSTEON products... Yea what did I tell you there will not be a huge market for my App... the market segment is just too small but I'm totally into it which is why I'm writing the program in the first place. Desire... I can't think of a better reason to write a program... oh well yea I guess MONEY would run a distant second (for me anyway)...
Anyway.. if any can either point me in the right direction or help me directly I'd like to hear from you...
