ok my friend has a mac g4, whatever that is. i dont know. i do know it is a mac and it runs diablo 2.

ok so she wants to run diablo 2 with no cd, she has the latest 1.12 patch on diablo 2. I have read some guides for no cd but they make no sense since when we open the cd we dont find any .mpq files, all we see is patch files. the guides just say transfer the music/video mpq files to the diablo 2 directory and rename them to diablo II expansion video/music. then it would run without disc. but only if you performed a full instalation of the game.

the nocd trick worked with windows xp on my toshiba laptop but i had to transfer more then music files to it.

is there any other way to make it work without the disk?

please help me.

Alternatively, you can just make your own image from the disc and mount it when you want to play. That's what I've been doing for years, and you can do it with lots of games that require the CD.

Yeah the patch.txt that Blizzard created I guess was not ran past the Mac team. You do not need to rename any files. If you are running LOD, stick in the LOD CD and copy the file 'Diablo II Expansion Music' and stick it in the Diablo folder. If you are playing D2 (with LOD expansion) you will need to copy the file 'Diablo II Music' from the Play CD in the Diablo folder.

Your Diablo folder should look like this

The majority of those files are installed with the game, copy anything that is missing from the CDs themselves without replacing any files (just the files starting with Diablo II except the install log).

thx guys u are all alot of help, going to try and transfer the files over and if that doesnt work im going to have her mount an image of the cd.
