Diablo 2 Help

[I WAS AN EMPIRE]

hi, i had been researching how to be able to play diablo 2 on my mac for awhile and i still cant figure it out. i have downloaded and used the Diablo II Installer for OS X, installed both diablo 2 and diablo 2 LOD and i get the message, "The application Diablo iI quit unexceptedly". i then downloaded and used the patch from the blizzard website. re-installed the game several times now and i still keep getting this message, "The application Diablo iI quit unexceptedly" where i have to 'Ignore' or 'Relaunch'. Please help me with this problem if you have any ideas. i really want to be able to play diablo 2 LOD, i just went out and bought the Battle Chest and i want to be able to play on my mac.
