Anyone else think that would be amazing? Either way I am picking up a copy of Diablo 3 when it comes out, but it would be stick to play on an iPad casually also. Just tap where to walk, and enemies to attack etc.

Diablo 3, like all Blizzard games, will be easy to play but difficult to master and therefore will be far too complex for the iPad with its limited control options.

And before anyone says "but you just have to click 2 buttons" - if you want to get to lvl 99 in hardcore mode in Diablo 2 you have to do a little bit more, switching skills, drinking potions, giving potions to mercenaries etc etc.

It would be a shame if Blizzard would dumb down such a great game for the iPad.

I don't see how it would be dumbing it down, if anything it would be making the game funner and more accessible to casual gamers also. They could just have potion apps at the bottom of the screen or something, its not like they are only going to have ipad version and no more mouse and keyboard, if anything they are dumbing their game down by not supporting tablets. The main mechanic of the game is using the left mouse to click on enemies, potions etc, only hardcore WOW like players are going to use hotkeys.

Have not tried it yet, looks pretty good, even though its no diablo :p

Yes but diablo on iPad won't happen at least not v3. If blizzard was like other corporations and did not control its distribution channels so closely and in-house I'd consider the first or second for iPad but it's just hasn't ever been there direction.

Mind you I'd get endless play time in hours if d2 especially hit the iPad store and i think a lot of people would grab it regardless of pricing!

I remember having a couple dozen hotkeys set up for Diablo 2. I don't see how this would work on an iPad, or why Bliz would even want to try.

The end result could be worse than what happened when Deus Ex 2 was ported to Xbox; it made the PC version of the game suffer, too.

I would think a game like Diablo it would be easier - just touch on the object you want to use.

Though a GUI redesign would have to be in order....

Was tempted at an iPad, but heck, with all the advanced stuff being released for it, an iPad 2 is more in order.... ;)

Personally I'd like them to bring Starcraft to the iPad first

...how would that even be possible? How could you select specific units, box them, left or right click?

And don't even get me started on hotkeys....and movinga round the screen

Indeed, although I think that since D3 is still "TBA" we might see the iPad jump leaps and bounds before D3 is ready. We might see interesting uses of 3d or other as yet unknown things to enhance the user experience.

I don't think the iPad is really suited to RTS and hack n' slash fantasy games.

How about a console version of Diablo III that takes advantage of Kinect or Wii Remote? You literaly hack n' slash at your enemies, mime shooting an arrow, or make drinking motions for the potions? :D

I'd recommend installing the Google Motion addon for iPad. After installing you simply prop your iPad up and then make very precise motions in front of it. Works like a charm! Who needs a stink'n mouse keyboard?? :)

That is a fantastic idea! It would be a great way to get exercise while playing such a great game. :)

I wonder if any other games are doing something similar.
