The patch release notes mention widescreen support for the game but I have no idea of how to actually activate it. All I get is a stretched out image. Or bars on the side if I tell my monitor to not stretch which means for a fact it is not changing the resolution.

Anyone out there have any success?

That's what widescreen support is; you get a stretched image.

That is most definitely NOT what widescreen is.

In general, you would be correct. But we're talking about an ancient game here, and that's what kind of widescreen support you get. There are only 2 resolutions, 640x480 and 800x600. Neither of them is widescreen natively, so the image must be stretched. Go PM rbarris, MacRumors Forums' very own Blizzard employee, if you don't believe me.

Why would they even add that? I don't know anyone who would ever want to stretch a game, if that's all it does might as well leave it out.
