Diagnose my macbook pro(battery/boot up problems)

I dont use battery a lot(probably about once a week) but the last time i did(and the few times i tried it after to see what was wrong) it would work for about 15 minutes, then do what seems like a hard shutdown, as if i held the power button down. Then after that i can boot it up it makes the startup sound, then goes to like a dark black screen that seems to flicker for about 5 seconds. Then it shuts off again and cannot be booted up until its reconnected to power.

When its reconnected it boots up normally(although the apple logo screen does seem to take a few extra seconds). The only other weird thing is after i boot it up connected to the power, the next time i unplug the power cord the computer automatically goes right into sleep mode, i just have to click to get it out, but its still a very weird thing.

I had this and got it fixed by getting a battery replacement.

The way to do that without spending a hour on the phone and paying the Applecare incident fee is to call and when they ask "Do you have Applecare" (in other words, should I charge you for this call) say "No, but it's a hardware problem" and when they ask what the issue is say "the system randomly shuts down when running on battery. I reset the parameter RAM and power management unit and there was no change. I want to send the battery in for a replacement." They will then do an advance exchange for you.

they charge you if its an applecare call? what if its at an apple store?

If you have the AppleCare extended warranty, then no, they don't charge you. What david06 was talking about was what to do if you don't have the extended warranty. But even if you don't have it, your call is free within the 90 day period after buying your MBP.

hmmm, by saying " i don't use the battery a lot " means that u use the MBP wthout he battery, and just plug the AC adaptor ?
if thet so , i wonder does it work well ?
cause in my MBP if i plug the ac adaptor, it runs on, but the fan noise is very very loud.
