To check the balance on a card, I use an automated web service. They do not have other options such as web, etc. I have the number in a contact, then a wait command (semicolon), then have the account number, then pound. When I tap the contact, the number is called, then when the system is ready, I tap the "Dial 123..." button in the bottom left. All was well until they put a security check due to spamming. Now when I call to check the balance, it reads me a code that I have to enter on the keypad before proceeding. This code changes every time. When I enter the code, the "Dial 123..." button disappears.

I'm looking for other suggestions how to work around this. The account number is long. I can't paste it into the active call like one can paste numbers into the dialer. Checking the balance is now cumbersome as I have to have the account number somewhere else besides the phone to enter it manually.

Ideas?

If you tap and hold above the numbers on the iOS phone keypad, a “Paste” prompt appears. Tap it and whatever is on your clipboard will get pasted into the phone app
