After my update from Lion to Mountain Lion, the font size in all dialog boxes (when opening and saving files) is too small and very tiring. All other fonts are unchanged. Please see pics.
Anyone else experiencing this? Any solution? I've tried everything including tinker tool etc. to no avail. Seems nothing but it's quite important for me (aging eyesight and 12 hrs/day at the computer).

Press Command + J in the Finder and change the text size from 12 to something larger!

View/Show View Options (the last one) on Finder. Change font size and Set as Default.

I probably wasn't clear despite the screenshots, the problem is with saving/opening files dialog boxes. Eg right now in your browser click File>Save Page as, how can you change the filenames font size in that saving box? Why it was a larger font in Lion and it's tiny after ML update?

Unfortunately you are probably not able to deliver screen shots of the "file dialog windows" in OS X 10.7 and OS X 10.8 on your computer (and the screen shots you provided were not such windows but normal Finder windows).

However, I do not remember that I noticed any difference in the font size of these file dialog windows between OS X 10.6, OS X 10.7 and OS X 10.8.

Did you change anything else as well, like i. e. the monitor or the monitor resolution? Can you change the monitor resolution to a lower resolution and does it look fine then?

Yes I run both Lion and Mountain Lion on the very same Mac Mini and those are actual screenshots of dialog boxes when you click 'open' (in this case to upload a file). Same problem of course when I click 'save'.

The screenshots are not normal Finder windows, they are dialog boxes, having the 'Cancel' and 'Open' small buttons on the lower right.

The problem presented immediately after ML update without any other changes, that's why I am puzzled.

... makes me now puzzled, too (and I see now also that your screen shots are actually file dialog windows).

Especially puzzling is that in your screen shots in OS X 10.7 the file list font is bigger than the side bar font while in OS X 10.8 both have the same size. I only remember both having the same size. Looks almost as if in your case something was unusual in OS X 10.7 and is now back to normal in OS X 10.8.

Lion install is vanilla, in ML I have Tinkertool installed in the hope to solve the issue. Unfortunately Tinkertool can change many fonts sizes except those in the dialog boxes!

Solution?

Is there a Solution to this? It's most annoying to always have to drag the dialog box open to see the files.
