I know you can change your phone choice when you preorder if it's not what you got pre-approved for, but then do you have to go through the actual approval process again (confirming carrier, getting approved by Citizens One, etc.)?

In the email I got for pre-approval it says:
You can update your iPhone selection or Applcare+ coverage during pre-order.

I want to chime in on this as well. What happens? I preapproved myself for the Max but thinking I just want the regular Xs now. Is the preapproval still held and I just select the new model? Or do I need to go through the whole process again and hope it works at 3am?

I have the same question. I got me pre-approved for the xs mistsnkely but I was going for the xs Max. Anyone know?

The pre-approval is just for the loan. It does not hold any phone in stock for you based on my understanding, it just short cut the process of entering social, etc. when ordering. So in other words, you will go in, change the selection and order whatever phone you want.

Yeah. I guess the concern was weather changing the amount of the loan would require any re-approval from citizen one (esp. if you move up a tier).

So just for anyone wondering, you did not have to go through the whole approval process again. I was simply able to change the model and then confirm from there. Went very smoothly and was done by 3:04am
