There's a cloud icon in iTunes that shows up at the top of the Sidebar (vertical sidebar on the left) when the Library type is set to Music. It's for Match. If you hover over it, the popup balloon displays "Accessing iTunes Match".
It USED to be (before today's update to 11.0.5) that this cloud icon (1) was empty when everything was "OK," (2) had an animation showing diagonal lines moving from bottom left to top right when iTunes was accessing the Cloud and syncing Match, and (3) had a sort of lightning bolt through the cloud when Match was "dead in the water" (not syncing properly).
Now it appears the behavior of the icon has been changed by Apple, to wit:
1. The icon normally has a lightning bolt through it. This apparently means that everything is OK (not FUBAR, as such icon's display state meant previously).
2. The icon (still) displays the animation showing diagonal lines moving from bottom left to top right when iTunes was accessing the Cloud and syncing Match (no change in 11.0.5).
3. The icon displayed never appears with an "empty" state anymore (as was its previous display state when iTunes Match wasn't currently syncing yet was "OK").
4. You can now apparently click on the icon to force sync Match (which is kind of cool).
I'm concerned only because since they have commandeered the FUBAR display state of the icon to now mean "everything OK, just no sync currently in progress"), there is apparently no longer any way to tell if there is a FUBAR state occurring with Match/network connection/etc.
Can anyone please confirm or deny the above? Thanks!
