Did Apple enable TRIM support for non-Apple SSD's?

Prior to Sierra and maybe even prior to El Capitan, I had to use Trim Enabler on my Crucial M4 SSD inside my 2012 MBP.

I updated to Sierra recently and I went to download a new update to Trim Enabler and it says Trim is enabled but not through the Trim Enabler app.

I check System Info and sure enough, Trim has been enabled on my M4. Did Apple enable Trim support? Have I been sleeping under a rock and it's been enabled for awhile now?

Since Yosemite you can enable trim with the trimforce command in terminal, and it remains enable even after a system upgrade. Trim Enabler uses trimforce under the hood…

The Sierra upgrade disabled trim on my machine somehow. So be sure to verify it is still enabled after your upgrade.

Did the same to me, I had to re-enable it on my MBP, I haven't checked the Mini yet.

Every OS upgrade I've done has disabled trim on mine so I was shocked that it was enabled and said it wasn't thru trim enabler.
