Did I do OK on this Mac Pro?

I've been a Mac fan for a long time. My very first Mac was a Performa 550 back in the 90s. Since then I've owned an iMac G3, 2 Power Mac G4s, an iBook G4, and a Power Mac G5. I have wanted a Mac Pro for quite some time but never had the extra money to plop down 2500 dollars on one. Well I recently came into some extra cash and decided to buy a nice used Mac Pro. Here is what I ended up buying:

Mac Pro 1,1
X2 dual core 2.66 ghz Xeons
6 GB Ram
640 GB HDD
ATI radeon 5770 video card

The machine came with the original box, keyboard, mouse and restore discs as well as a copy of snow leopard. It is in nice condition. I gave 1100 for it. Did I do alright? I am really a casual user who does internet browsing and a little gaming. Will this machine thanks meet my needs for awhile?

The video card should handle gaming just fine. It is a midrange, last gen card, but still pretty powerful.

As long as it will play Diablo III OK when it comes out, I'm good.

Good machine, which will last another couple of years with your usage profile. The installed 5770 can be considered one of the best cards available for the 1,1. Should work smoothly for most games.

From the possible upgrades you could do to that machine (Adding another optical drive, adding harddrives, upgrading to 8-core CPU's, adding SSD, upgrading Ram) the addition of a SSD is probably the one you'd notice most, however imho you should keep an eye on the Ram first.

6GB may seem a lot, but with the horsepower of the MP you could suddenly find yourself actually using it by extending your usage profile (e.g. running a Windows emulator, doing video work or simply leaving more applications open in parallel for sheer comfort reasons). And then 6GB may become a little tight. Unfortunately FB-DIMM's are a dying breed, so prices probably will go up rather than down (whereat they are pretty expensive already).

Therefore you may want to consider adding another 4-8GB to be set for the future (if you find a good deal).

I'm aware that this opinion may be controversial, so you better wait a little for other user reactions before you go out and buy...
