So I realized that the 29 dollar battery replacement program is ending in a few months and since I plan on holding onto my 7 Plus for a little while longer I decided to go ahead and replace it with 84 percent wear. I made the appointment and everything went well. Well I noticed that when I got home that the battery level was the same as when I dropped it off and the health info was still reading 84 percent. my question is did Apple charge me and not change out my battery or does it take a while for the battery health stats to refresh and realize there's a new battery?

I would think it would show right away. Did you check it with coconut battery or the native battery health monitor on the phone? How about doing a hard reset? If none of that gives you a 100% battery health result bring it back as soon as you can.

Reboot your 7+. The old settings will still show until you reboot and allow the phone to learn the new battery settings. If that doesn't work, then take it back to Apple.

ive restarted it several times. I connected to coconut battery too and Its still saying that the original battery is still installed. im gonna go back to Apple and see what's up. If I did in fact get charged for a battery that I didn't receive then ill be shocked that they would allow that.

it will show after replacement. Wear level should x/x same. But i in second time in month changed battery 5s, i would said one thing wait few hour and install ios 12.. It really weird ios 11

Changing the battery forces the CPU to read the new battery parameters (as the phone has to reboot) so if you are showing the same wear level as before, it's safe to say you either have the same battery or they installed a really poor battery.

I took it to Apple this morning and they did all the tests and while they didnt come out and say it they basically admitted that I have the same battery as before. they even brought out a new battery too show me that its going into my phone. so we will see when I get the phone back if it was the OG battery or just a really poor "new" battery.

Update: after two batteries they replaced my entire phone. I guess there was something wrong with the connection between the logic board and the battery. the phone was reading 0 cycles and still low health. im a happy customer still.
