Did I just lose my Applecare?

I just realised I have Applecare for my G4 Tower. I bought it with the computer when I first bought it, but I never did anything. I just saw the applecare box, and I was like "cool" my computers under warrenty until 2007.

But now i'm thinking, did I need to register it or something? Did I lose it by not registering it? Is it too late now? I've had the computer for almost 2 years now.

Nope. It should all be fine. Go to Apple's support site and enter the serial number to check its warranty level if in doubt.

Yes, you lost your applecare. You were supposed to register it within the first year of owning your computer. Call them to see if there's anything you can do about it.

Yes, definitely call them. And don't worry--you didn't lose your AppleCare.

As long as you still have the sales receipts for the computer and for the AppleCare extension, you're OK. I bought my PowerBook G4 12-inch in December 2003, and purchased AppleCare around November 2004. I didn't have any need for AppleCare service on the PowerBook until November 2005 (nearly two years after I purchased the computer, and a full year after I purchased the AppleCare extension).

I called AppleCare and told them I wanted to activate the extension. They told me that I should have activated it as soon as I bought it, but that it was still valid as long as I faxed them the receipts for both the computer and the extension.

I did so, and immediately got my PowerBook serviced (hard drive replacement).
