They are probably holding off until they can offer 4K for under $2000.
Was not able to watch the Apple Product release but skimmed through Macrumors..
Did they Not update the thunderbolt display still???
Been holding off for a year and a half! by the time is it out USB3 will be obsolete.
I could be wrong but the video during the keynote where 2 pro's used the new Mac Pro has what looks like black aluminium monitors, i would not be surprised if those were the new thunderbolt displays, how cool would that be?
IF i am right i would assume they would be released at the same time as the Mac Pro
The only reason why the ACD with DP was still around was for the old MP. It's no longer necessary.
I have to assume that a new Apple display is going to come out soon.
It will make sense why the new rMBP has TB2 and 4K support via HDMI.
Why would Apple create monitors just to fit with Mac Pro ? A relatively large percentage of Mac Pro users build systems with 3rd party monitors. If it is a picture of what a customer set up then a 3rd party monitor is just as likely.
While they could that takes dribbling out info to a goofy extreme. The pricing is still incomplete on the BTO options and the monitor is in the black also. The primary target of the TB docking station/monitor is the laptops anyway. Those are all out at this point.
They appear to have nuked the 27" Display/Docking station with displayPort connectors at this point though. Kind of "odd" to kill off the 'old' product without introducing at all the new one.
