Ok well i am an internet marketing major, and intel is advertising the i7 on many mac related websites. Trust me, after everything i have learned, i can safely say this is definably no mistake by intel.

All i can say is im glad i went with the bottom of the line 20", what a good excuse to upgrade when the new models come out!

Now is that just the ad banners you usually see? because that has nothing to do with the site.

That has nothing to do with anything. The Mac Pro will get Nehalem in Q1 2009. Everything else will get Nehalem in LATE Q3 2009.

I just saw an HP ad on Macworld.com. Must mean that Apple is being bought by HP.

A company wouldn't advertise a product such as the i7 on sites like apple is they it wasn't going to be available. it is possible it might be only available with the mac pro, but i doubt that. With how easy it is to add negative keywords such as "apple, mac, imac" etc to a 40,000+ per month internet campain, trust me thats no mistake... either that of intel is wasting valuable $$$ on untageted ads..

um, is it content generated advertising banners?

If we talked about viagra enough in this thread, i can guarentee that a banner viagra banner would appear at the top. ZOMG steve jobs is going to give us lifetime viagra prescriptions !!

HP is a competitor of apple...
you will see ford banners on mopar websites alot, however you will never seen ford products (upgrades, accessories, etc) on a mopar site.

Intel is not dumb. They know what their doing.

Just saw a Nehalem ad at the bottom of this thread after reading this. Had to laugh. :D

With google you can most certainly do content based banner advertising. You can also pick your sites individually. So either intel has manually picked these major mac sites to advertise on, or the did not block apple related terms from their campaign.

It's just ads. As said before besides the mac pro all of the other macs won't see i7 till AT LEAST October. Most likely macworld 2010.

Sorry

well look at what I just found at the bottom of the screen...

Sory, i thought he was referencing a different processor...

But i honestly thing apple may bring it sooner than expected.

Macs don't even use the desktop version of the core i7.
I know that, I was just proving that the i7 advertisments hes been talking aobut are purely content driven ads, not some sort of confirmation that they are guarenteed to come to the new macs.

That is not what im saying...
their is a lot of i7 ads showing up on apple related sites pages that have absolutely no mention of intel or i7... Now when it comes to hardware and stuff like that im kind of dumb..i will admit that anyday.. But something else (term apple? imac? mac?) is triggering these ads.

Wait a minute... why are we even having this argument?! They've been confirmed since the second Intel and Apple made a deal to combine technology.

We KNOW there will be Nehalem processors in future Macs. The timeframes that we have listed are the timeframes for the release. NO SOONER. And that's the end of the story.

I saw "DON'T VOTE FOR THE EVIL JIM MARTIN" ads before the Georgia Senate runoff. I don't think that means the Republican Party is meaning to buy MacRumors.com.

Now I want to see viagra ads, or ambien ads, or amd ads. C'mon, Google. Bring me some "content-driven" ads. Seriously, it is common to see Windows/HP/Dell etc. ads on a Mac site due to content-generated ads. Intel is not secretly sending out ads about Macs.

Some of the ads on MR seem to be content generated, but most of the banners are paid: At the moment I see an advertisement for Crucial above my post box, yet there has been no mention of Crucial or memory or RAM before this post.

Intel advertises on many technology sites. Unfortunately, this idea has already been struck down by the fact that iMacs use notebook parts, and the current i7 line is for desktops. No notebook parts are scheduled to arrive until Q3 2009. Intel won't be 9 months ahead of their projection.

Time for a new major :p

Believe me, Intel's media house OMD are not that clever. :)
