I was moving the screen and accidental.y pressed the power key. The power immediately went off, and now I cant get it back on!!!!!!

Check the connections, and hold the power button in like said above.

edit: just saw your updated post, thats really weird, I have no other opinions on it, but if I do I will be sure to shout them out.

Did that. Even tried a new cord. Nothing

Only use the cord it came with, if you have it plugged into a power strip (boy I sure hope you don't) make sure the power strip is turned on. You can do a SMC reset by:

• Shut down the computer.
• Unplug the computer's power cord.
• Press and hold the power button for 5 seconds.
• Release the power button.
• Attach the computers power cable.
• Press the power button to turn on the computer.

Try holding down the power button for five seconds. Then press it to turn it back on.

Still not on? Try unplugging the power cord, and hold the power button down for five seconds while its unplugged. Then, plug it back in and try turning it on again.

I'm getting nothing. No lights no sound. Nothing. It was working flawlessly, and seemed just shut off all at once. I thought maybe it went to sleep, now I think maybe it got fried??

I unplugged the chord and heard a sound, but nope ... Still nothing. If I have to take this back I will be so pissed I did so much work to get all my files over!

tell them to swap out the drive. if they give you any static, tell them you erased the original drive, all your data is on THAT mac. They should swap it out for inconveniencing you.

The future is going to be void of quality i swear. Cashed in for instant gratification. Its all about speed, like a kamikaze moth to a flame. I dont know where that came from. Move along, nothing to see here.

Since it's new, just call Apple Support. I guess they'll walk you through some list of things to try, otherwise you'll 100% work something out. Good luck!

Why should one not use a power strip?

Thanks

Because they don't provide much if any protection to the device they're plugged into. In the even there is a brown out or power surge you are putting your system at risk. Even if you live in an area with a strong power grid brown outs and power surges still happen.

It's a wise idea to get a good quality battery backup device, one that has a USB output will even plug into your iMac and then you can control what happens through OS X's Energy Saver settings.
