Did notebookreview.com shut down, or are they having technical difficulties? I would visit that site/forums maybe once or twice a month. I noticed the site wasn't working last week, and it still isn't. (Not sure when exactly it went down.) Their Twitter page isn't helpful either, the last post is from 2019.

I guess I'm not surprised if they shut down, but it seems odd I can't find any mention about it or other people questioning it. Maybe it really was that unpopular...

Seems to half-load for me. Bout half the things on the page render, the other half are white boxes. Technical difficulties? I am not someone who has visited this site before today.

I've got this message:

I also didn't know this site, but I know another one, notebookcheck or whatever it is called.

Noticed that it had died sometime on saturday when I received an email for a watched thread but was unable to view it.

Thanks for the update. Had just come across their forums a few months ago with a new laptop purchase. Hoping they are able to transfer the forums to a new owner, however unlikely it seems.

I was a member of notebookreview.com since 2006 - it's a shame. I remember trying to discuss and offer helpful options in how they could improve years ago (I think 2012) when Reddit and other forum formats were making such great improvements to their experiences; notebookreview was stuck in some sort of 2004 time capsule.

I let my suggestions for improvement be known in a calm, collected, professional manner and was met with nothing but hate and "our formula is working, why change what's working?". I still posted there occasionally and checked it out maybe once a month, and it is sad because some of the technical excellence of their community was so amazing and I'll appreciate it forever, but it's a very strong example of "if you aren't moving forwards, you are falling backwards."

They have permanently closed the forum at notebookreview.com. It's a shame as a whole host of valuable resources are now lost to the ether. It was announced well in advance. Some former members there are trying to reconstitute the forum at a new website with a temporary name. It is at efgxt.net.

There were other alternative forums listed by other members before the closure, which in addition to efgxt.net, included notebook-review.com and laptopforum.net. Those were the three primary alternatives people were talking about prior to closure.
