Did "Organize by Conversation" Change in Mail?

Running the latest public beta. Did a clean install when deciding to run it.

I have "Organize by Conversation" turned on in the Mail "view" menu.

In Yosemite and before, Mail would consider any emails with the same subject, a "conversation", and group them accordingly. I guess same subject alone is not technically a conversation, but was always useful when cleaning out my inbox to have all, say "Your receipt from Apple." emails grouped in this manner.

Did El Cap change the criteria for organizing by conversation (maybe "smarter" but a bummer for me)? Otherwise I can't figure out why the emails aren't grouping as before.

Old thread, but this "change" has made my daily use of Mail much more difficult.

I receive many mails, either from clients support requests or automated mails sent by websites, that have the same subject line.

In Yosemite, all mails that had the subject line grouped together. In El Capitan this only happens if they have the same name but with a Re: before.

And even worse, if for example, I send two mails with the same subject "Product Quote" to two different clients, and they both respond to me, those two separate mails are grouped together in a single conversation. I don't remember this happening before.

Same issue for me, it was easier when multiple emails with the same subject were grouped into a conversation, this used to work for me in Yosemite, seems like El Capitan is a bit more intelligent and separates them cos they come from different people. I'd like to be able to control that functionality.

Same issue, there may be some fix for it much like VIPs by clicking on one and then the main VIP and go to view->sort->all mailboxes at the bottom.

After that, the conversations issue is my only problem with Mail on 11.1.

Looks like 11.2 did not fix this issue by stacking any email with the same subject. It still only works when I actually respond an email and get a response. It has to be a bug still, not sure why they would turn off that feature of conversations.

This bug has still not been resolved in Sierra. I still very much enjoyed having all consistent subjects being put together as a "conversation" but El Crapitan killed it. It only last worked in Yosemite. :/
