Did Plex Give Anyone else migraines?

I've posted on the PLEX forums and I just thought I would try my luck here as well,

I want to buy a Mac Mini to use as a home media server and dump cable, and in the interim I'm running Plex and Boxee on my MacPro to get used to them and I've also started converting my DVD library via handbrake

I've had no difficulties so far with Boxee or Handbrake but I cannot figure out Plex for the life of me

I've read and re-read the users guide and I can't find what step I must be missing; so a brief synopsis incase anyone here can assist me:

I used handbrake and converted a dvd, The Bourne Identity to a MP4 file, which itunes recogizes easily enough

When I launch Plex I go into the Watch Your Videos section and add source

I then choose the folder by browsing where my movie is kept, and it shows this:
/users/benjiashley/movielibrary/

i click set content -> movies -> imdb is highlighted -> i choose to scan recursivley, and then i check the settings and add movie posters and increase the size of the thumb and click ok to leave the settings

then my choices are "select, settings, cancel" there's no ok, so i hit select

i now have a source that reads "movielibrary" however that's where i'm stuck

no video files are available, when i go to the "watch movies" section it says "No scanned information for this view Switch to files view"

what am i missing?? please help me, I've never felt so lost or frustrated with a computer program
 
Highlight the source and hit "I" or "C" I forget which. This will bring up a menu, one of the items will be to scan the source. Do this.

If it doesn't work, navigate in the file mode by pressing the right arrow key until a side menu pops out. Select the file mode to search the directory inside Plex. Navigate to the file you want (you'll see it) and press "I" (or "C" I forget). Plex will search IMDB and give a list of suggestions if there isn't an exact match.

can't get imdb on plex

Having pain setting up plex: Can't get imdb to work, cuz I can't find it in the 'set content' window.

How do you get imdb to work in plex ?

in the set content window, go up to the top, there are 2 triangles, use those to make sure it says movies, then imdb should show up.
 
no imdb found.

In the 'set content' window, up on top by where the arrows are, it says 'none'.
 
you need to "press" one of the triangles.

NONE is one of the choices.

it goes:

NONE
CHOICE 1
CHOICE 2
CHOICE X

etc

and it goes around from last to first. so just go to the next choice and youll see the arrows do something.
 
If you can avoid your headaches until the new version comes out you shouldn't have any problems. Plex 9 completely revamps the entire system so that it is actually easy to input info and edit it as well.

That is the primary reason I'm not messing with my files until it is released.
