Did raise to speak stop working in watchos10?

I just installed the latest watchOS 10 and I am not able to get the raise to speak to work anymore. It won’t activate at all anymore. I have activated it and deactivated the option in settings and also rebooted my watch, but it doesn’t seem to work anymore

Does anyone know how to get it to work again?

try to shut the watch off and turn it back on. That is what I did get my non working raise to speak to work

Ive total reset my watch 3 times now, and activated and deactivated the raise to talk feature and it just wont work. At best, it goes 1 of 10 tried.

Ive had the apple watches since 8 years now, so its not my technique thats wrong, its definetly something odd going on with watchos 10.

I’m actually finding that raise to speak is working too well. Every time I get a notification and flip my wrist to look at it Siri activates.

I've been having problems with this for the last several (non-beta) WatchOS releases. It will work, I install a security update and it won't work. Then it comes back later. So weird.

Mine wasn't working after the update to WatchOS 10. I tried immediately after, and again several hours later.
A restart resolved the issue, and it seems to be working as-expected now.

It works for me but now the Siri response isn’t audible, it just appears on the watch screen.

Same for me on Apple Watch Ultra 2: I have “raise to talk” activated and it doesn’t trigger Siri. It doesn’t work either on my Series 5 running WatchOS10.

Siri activation on raise is way less consistent on my series 7 on watchOS 10. Haven’t dug at it to figure a rhyme or reason, yet, ie: speak earlier or later.

Just set up my ultra 2 and Siri works fine with Raise to talk. I have the latest downloads so all is well for me.

I came here to these forums to make this specific thread. Looks like I don't have to anymore.

Raise to wake works probably 1/5th of the time for me for OS10. Has anyone logged a complaint with Apple so they're aware of it?

And when it does pop up, it takes forever to perform the action.

For example, when I raise my arm up to my mouth, it takes upwards of 10-15 seconds to set a timer when I say "Set a timer for 6 minutes."

man, this is so annoying, i was using the "raise to talk" (siri) a lot on my apple watch S6. Now nothing works anymore so i have to use the damn "Hey siri" every time i want to use this, which is more annoying since i use SIRI like 50 - 100 times per day

Another voice here with the same issue. I’m still rocking a series 5 but raise to speak worked 9/10 times. Now it rarely works at all. I’ve unpaired, restarted, but nothing seems to work. I also had the same experience as some others have posted where Siri’s voice is not audible when I set a timer, but after a few days all of a sudden now she says “5 minutes, counting down.” So strange, I hope they fix this in the next update.

This is a great feature when it works, and it might work even less worse with the new OS, but it’s been so hard to trigger it already that I can’t say for sure… Just tried it again while writing this, twice, no luck.

On my Apple Watch Watch Series 5 with watchOS 10, the rise to speak feature rarely worked. It worked pretty well in watchOS 9.x. Now with my series 9 and watchOS 10.1.1 the rise to speak works about 10% of the time. I hope that this gets fixed soon.

It tends to work if I raise my arm from straight down, while I’m standing. If I’m sitting and my arms are bent then raising my wrist doesn’t work unless I say hey siri.

I had same problem and for me this worked perfectly:

Turned off "wake on wrist raise," turned it back on, then turned off watch and turned it back on

Worked flawlessly for me on s5 with OS 9,
never updated it to 10 though before is old it and it never works on my s9 with os10

me too. i regret updating AND upgrading
