My daughter is looking an iPhone SE for Xmas, I myself had an SE for about 1 month, great little phone until iOS 14 killed its battery life. And yes I tried resets, set up as new and damn all helped, This drain seemed to effect all the phones with the 6/7/8/SE form factor. I got fed up and bought a Pixel. I am wondering did they fix this issue before I buy my daughter an SE or is it still not fit for purpose?

possibly an issue with your phone? since lots of ppl on ios14 don't have a huge battery drain on their devices. & while i would be happy if apple improved battery life on my phone, i don't see how they can 'ever fix' something that wasn't universally broken...

SE/8/etc do have crap battery life on iOS 14. Those with acceptable battery life aren’t using these devices. This isn’t a problem they’ll fix though. Apple has always promoted planned obsolescence subtly.

Shame the brand new SE 6 months old got clumped into this bracket. One of the downfalls of reusing old parts I guess.

The battery on my 6S was about shot so it wasnt great anyway but it certainly wasnt made any worse by iOS14, it was still pretty similar to how it was on iOS13.

I've noticed my Air2 has lost a bit of battery performance since upgrading from 14.1 but my X was upgraded from 12.4.1 to 14.2 right when 14.2 dropped and battery performance hasn't changed at all. My battery capacity is 82% so a trip to Apple for a replacement is in it's future but it still lasts as long as it did before..

I recently bought an iPhone 12 mini ... and noticed that the battery was draining faster than I expected from this little battery. I remembered something I'd seen years ago when battery drain with a new iOS was a problem a lot of people had. Shutdown TWICE in a row. I did this. Since then I can go 1 ½ - 2 days without recharging. This is not guaranteed to be a solution for everyone ... but it did work for me.
