Did you lose your iTunes playlists when you upgraded to IOS 14?
I lost mine on my iPhone when I upgraded to 13.7 but they were still on my Mac Mini.
I was able to get into the settings on my iPhone 11 pro and turn off sync and apple music
and then the option to sync up my playlists appeared in the iTunes sync page on my mac.
I went to the apple forums and they said that it was happing with IOS 14.
Did this happen to you?
How did you fix it?
I'm not going to upgrade until I find a solution.
I've got 13 years of playlists that I want to keep!
Thanks!

My playlists on my phone (originally synced from my Mac) are gone. I chalked it up to installing iOS 14.2 beta, but it could’ve been when I upgraded from iOS 13 to 14.0. Can’t you just resync your device and get the playlists back?

I lost them when upgrading to 13.7 so I went into the settings on the phone turned off show apple music and the sync button, got back into iTunes music settings and the sync all playlists then reappeared. Not sure this works
in iOS 14 so Im going to wait until I hear more info.

Has to be a setting somewhere that is toggled incorrectly. I've never lost anything on Apple Music in the years I've been updating OS and beta OS's.

No, all my playlists are fine. And so are my wife's. We're both on iOS 14.1.
Well, there are at least 615 people with this same question on apple support.
which iphone and which OS/mac are you on?
I'm on a 2018 mini with Mojave and an Iphone 11 pro.
thanks!

I just did the transfer thing from my 7 Plus to my new 12 Pro Max and I have no play lists now.

No. They're still there, some of them are from 2001

iPhone Xs and 11 Pro Max, both on 14.1 at the time, now on 14.2.
Macbook Pro 13" on Catalina at the time, now on Big Sur.
Thank you for the info, maybe I'll upgrade, I'd like to get more info though, I'd like to keep my playlists!

APPLE is forcing you to subscribe to their Apple Music plan else your playlists won’t reappear.
They are also forcing you to upgrade to big sur! That is if you want IOS 14.
Not sure why apple does this. Most music software won't work on big sur.
And apple won't allow the newer macs to work on Mojave which most music software
still works on. A lot of software still doesn't work on Catalina.

Not true. I've had my playlists from a long time ago, even when I hadn't subscribed to Apple Music.
Theres over 600 people on Apple support forums that will disagree with you.
I'd like to upgrade to the max 12 iPhone but it won't work with older OS's
so I guess I'll stay on my 11.

No issues with my playlists when upgrading to 14 from 13.whatever it was. My computer is on Mojave and I do not subscribe to Apple music. What is an issue is some of the album art. I have a bunch of albums with incorrect art. The music is all there though.

Interesting. Which mac are you on and which phone? I have an iPad air2(IOS14) with music on it and
My 2018 mac mini with mojave wouldn't let me sync it without first upgrading to Big Sur.
My iPhone 11pro still is on 13 and I didn't want to lose the ability to sync it with the mini
by upgrading to 14. thanks!

My Mac is ancient by today's standards but still working great due to the upgrades I've done with memory and SSD. MBP Non Retina Mid 2012 with Mojave 10.14.6 I first upgraded an iPhone 8+ to whatever was the second release of iOS 14 and then got an iPhone 12 Pro Max. Neither have had any issues with music or playlists being lost other than the album art.

I do not have my music set to auto sync with my iPhone because I have wayyyyyyyy too much music in my Music library (420gb) so I choose what I want to add manually. Not sure if that setting has anything to do with what you are experiencing or not. Something to investigate maybe.
