Hello,

For the last 2 days I've been having issues with youtube that no amount of restarting seems to fix. About 20% of the time when I click on a youtube video, the video remains black. If I click on it, it gives me static and the error message.

I only get this on my 2009 MP, 10.13.5 with a 560RX. My 2015 Macbook pro is fine.

thanks.

Is this on Safari? I had similar (and other) issues with youtube and switched to Chrome. No issues since. I never got to the bottom of why it was happening as it didn't bother me enough to investigate.

Thanks for the tips and suggestions.

Sadly I can't upgrade to 10.13.6 because it messes up my 560RX.

I'll see if using another browser fixes this, but it would be a pain to switch because of bookmarks syncing with my macbook and ipad...

I think it may be something else. I run Safari, watch YouTube on my 2009 4/5.1 running 10.13.6. No Flash. And no issues. I have an RX580 installed. I thought I had read that in general 10.13.6 was the best for driver support - but obviously not true in your case. Have you checked plug-ins? Login items? Does Safari not work with videos from just YouTube, or other sites as well?

Other sites seem fine, and the troubles have only begun yesterday. Since then, it's about 20% of times. I only have an adblock addon, nothing else.

As I've learned, the 580 is more compatible than the 560. But it doesn't feel like a GPU issue.

I haven't changed or installed anything on my computer yesterday.

That's interesting. I just downloaded the latest version and will give it a try. Thanks!

Hmm, I want to hear more about how 10.13.6 messes up your 560RX so badly that you’re sticking with 10.13.5!
