iPhone X Didn’t the keyboard used to automatically revert back to letters after entering a number/punctuation

Every time I enter a number or special character and it doesn’t automatically toggle back to the main keyboard I feel like it used to do that. Am I wrong?

That only happens for shift-characters. Those are one at a time, unless you do a caps lock.

It still works like that once you put a space after your entry.
