can someone tell me what the differences are between the two? I was considering getting a new whitebook, but if they basically do the same thing then I can just get an older blackbook.

diff between the old c2d blackbook vs. new c2d whitebook?

i assume you're talking about the middle white macbook. i think there are two differences, really. one is the processor; the white one has a 2.16 ghz c2d compared to the black macbook's 2.0 ghz c2d. and super drives on the newer macbooks are 8x where the old ones were 6x burners.
And the wireless n vs. g, but you can get that for like 2 bucks. That is all, I did the comparision a while ago.
is the new one thinner? and yeah I'm talking about the middle whitebook. also, is it worth the extra 150 for the new whitebook over the old blackbook ?
Nope. Same size, weight, and thickness.
To go from 2GHz to 2.16GHz is negligible and you will never notice. The burner is a bit faster, but really the recent MB updates were pretty lackluster.
they're the same size and weight. if i were you, i'd actually go with the black macbook. the speed difference isn't something you'll really notice, and i've grown fond of the black color. but that's a personal preference.
I personally got the Black MacBook C2D 2.0 GHz and I love it. Plus people see the white Apple on the black lid and it turns heads. Its kind of weird...
