difference between 1gb and 2gb 6970m?

will it be a huge difference in playing like WoW? my 2010 imac with the 5850 or whatever it was worked fine .. just wondering if the 1gb gpu will be better ? is the 2gb mainly for pro apps ?

For WoW, it likely wouldn't make a huge difference. It may make some difference for higher end games, or for running 2-3 large displays, but 1GB is more than enough for most needs, even most gaming.

Check out this thread to help you with this. Short answer: 2GB will more than likely give you a very, very minimal performance gain. Whether that's worth the additional $100 is completely up to you.

thanks .. the money isnt the issue .. but i can pick up a 3.4 i7 with the 1gb card locally
plus i tend to update machines each time there is a refresh
