Difference between iOS 10.2 and 10.2.1?

Hi Guys,

I just bought my iPhone 6s 128g with the iOS 10.2
This is the first Apple smartphone for me so i have no any experience of this. But days later the system recommend me the new version of iOS 10.2.1
Should i upgrade? I just want to know the difference between the newer one and the current version. I have no idea about whether to update or not. And i have no idea about how much storage will my phone load the new version.
Any suggestion? Thank you in advanced.

Thank you for the reply man. I just worry that some day Apple will force me to update the iOS system... This is enough for me to use for years. Generally speaking, a little update won't make a big difference

You update to 10.3 when it drops it will improve your phones performance drastically

So how can i jump directly to 10.3 from 10.2 by skipping the 10.2.1? Can i update directly from the phone or update by some third party tools?

Each update Apple push will have some form of security added, so it is always wise to update regardless.

If however you choose not to update then all that happens will be your Settings icon will continue to remind you an update is available.

You can miss an update and go straight to the following update, it will simply add what is required to keep your device to the latest OS.

Dont forget that if the phone is plugged into charge whilst connected to Wifi it will also download the update and leave it sat on the phone awaiting install.

For what its worth my 6S is on 10.2.1 and its completely fine. In fact over the course of owning a 3GS, 5 and this 6S i've always updated each time an update is released more or less straight away and never had an issue. I only got rid of my 5 about a year ago and that was still running fine on the latest software whilst my parents and wife have 5S on the latest software with no issues. Yes occasionally some people will have an issue but a lot of the time its nothing a restore or reboot wont sort.

With a 6S you are a long way from an update that the phone will struggle with i would have thought.

I think he was just clarifying that the update is still downloaded under those circumstances and consumes space on the phone so the update icon reminder isn't <all> that happens. Probably not an issue on a fresh 128GB phone with a new-to-Apple user but hey...

To prevent updating iOS software, there is a workaround using tvOS beta profile. Additional info can be found through Google search.
Also, iOS 10.2 has a high chance of jailbreaking. Jailbreaking your device will open up an entire new world for iOS device user. You could know more about it.
My recommendation is to not update. Wait for a while and get familiar with existing firmware. "Only update when you are sure the newer version solves your problem existed in current version".

5s is a much older device than a 6s. Has half the RAM and way less processing power. The OP would be perfectly fine updating.

I have multiple 6s' in my household. No one has had a problem. No issues with 7 or 7Plus either. Same with my Air 2. As iOS versions get more mature in the build year, they get faster.

A 6sPlus might be slightly slower than a 6s because of the same RAM processing a bigger display.

Ok dude wait for 10.3 it will turbocharge your iPhone my cousin is using beta 2 on his 6 and he is not disappointed on updating to it

You can do as you please, no one is forcing you to update. You came here for advice, we are giving it to you. You don't have to listen to it. Just because one person said it slowed down their device does not make it true for all, thats a logical fallacy.

OP, if you have any interest in jailbreaking, or even plan to find out more about it, do NOT update. On iOS 10.2, your phone IS jailbreakable, on 10.2.1, it is NOT and likely won't be for a long time, if ever.

Oh guys, thank you for helping me. I didn't come back to check this thread at that day and i almost forgot about it. Now i kept my phone in 10.2, didn't update any. At Valentine's day i discovered a big problem with my phone - phone screen was messed just after i finish charging my phone to 100% battery. I can't do anything with my phone until it rebooted itself. I was angry. I just bought the phone for about 14 days

Have noticed significantly better battery life on my worn-out battery iPhone 6 on 10.2.1. (It was trash on 10.2)
