Difference between M1 and M2 14” MacBook Pro?

What’s the difference between these two machines? Is there any noticeable performance difference between the two. What is the general consensus on 16 vs 32GB memory? Machine is mostly being used as a daily driver. Not video editing. Does play some games. Nothing crazy and not really important. I’m seeing m1 14” pro 16Gb 512GB SSD for $1250 on Amazon. There’s M2 for $1650. Both are fine budget wise but has me wondering. Or should I get a 32GB in either?

In all honesty, 16GB RAM should be more than enough for the usage you're describing. Most games can't/won't take advantage of 16GB RAM, let alone 32GB, and for email, web browsing and productivity apps the 16GB config should be more then enough.

Only a few minor things. Like 1 hour more battery, Wifi 6e vs 6, bluetooth 5.3 vs 5, 20% better chip. Just small things.

I don’t know the difference between 6e v 6 and whatnot but just ordered a M1 Pro refurb with a 30 day return off Amazon for $1700 with 16GB and 1TB ssd. I kept reading to get the 1TB.

If you typically have more than a few browser tabs or windows open, you could notice slow performance or crashes, especially the current Safari. Not so much with 32, but more often with 16 GB RAM. Nothing you can't work around.
