I am in the market for a 3 in 1 Magsafe wireless charging station, but learned the official Magsafe puck from Apple has received a firmware update for 25W charging. I have a 16 Pro Max and Apple Watch 10 and wonder if it is more effective with better charging to buy a stand that hold the official Apple pucks instead of third party wireless Magsafe-compatible charging stations which only charge at 15W.

That's pretty much it. If you want to wirelessly charge at 25W, then you need the new MagSafe charger from Apple. (The original one is limited to 15W.)

Most of these other third-party chargers you find are based on Qi2, which is also limited to 15W. They are working to update the standard to allow more wattage, but don't think they're quite there yet.

Also, some Apple Watch updates have broken wireless charging with third-party chargers in the past, so make sure to find one that has the MFi logo if you go that route.

Personally, I would go with one where you supply your own pucks. If one of them breaks or gets a new version, you can just swap them out rather than having to buy a whole new set. I have one from elago.
