I am a Tmobile user in the US with a 2G 8gb iPhone running 2.2.0 and love it. I need more space, but have no need to get the 3G because it doesnt work on the US Tmobile network.

So the question is do I upgrade to the 3G or 3Gs when it comes out, or stick with the 2G and upgrade to 3.0 when it is available in PWNAGE.

What are the primary differences between 3Gs and just 3.0

Thanks!

Well, from memory, at least the following:

- no GPS on the 2G, which is crucial for more and more applications now

- MMS won't be enabled on the 2G it seems

- you probably won't be able to unlock the 3GS to t-mobile for quite a long time yet anyway

- the 3GS's new features like the compass, the camera, etc etc, check back in the iPhone news page on this site for all of these

- you have a nice metal back on your 2G, and a real glass screen (and IMHO just a nicer piece of kit)

- you can have 32Gb on the 3GS, useful for music and especially videos
