Well I've joined the club of the cracked up Macbook, but my cracks aren't forming in the usual places. I'll do my best to describe them.
Both of the cracks are on the bottom case. The first one runs along the back edge and runs parallel to the vent. It hasn't cracked all the way through the plastic, but I would assume it will eventually.
The second crack, if you could call it that, has appeared under the printing on the bottom case. It actually looks more like a puncture than a crack. It looks as if something is starting to punch through the plastic from the inside. Having never opened up a Macbook, I don't know whether it's a screw, or possibly a larger solder joint that's making the puncture, but something is. If I had to guess, I'd say heat might be what's causing this one.
I've never dropped my Macbook. Hell I've never even set it down hard. So, these cracks are a surprise to me. I'm not really complaining about it, as I don't think anything will be done to remedy my problem. I'm not going to call Applecare, because I know they'll just tell me that I damaged it. I guess all I can really do is live with it.
Owners of white Macbooks might want to flip their machines over and see if there are any strange cracks forming on their's.
