hey guys. i'm a fan of the marware sportfolio cases/sleeves. they are inexpensive, $30-$50, and they are form-fitting with very comfortable shoulder strap.

i recently ordered a 17" sportfolio for the macbook pro, but to my amazement, the clasps/buckle/hook that attaches the shoulder strap to the rings on the case itself was made out of PLASTIC. (i never used it because i sold it before i had a chance to use it)

i had previously owned a sportfolio for the 17" G4 powerbook, 15" G4 powerbook, 13" macbook, and all of them had metal hooks. the only bad thing about the metal hooks, was that they were very squeaky (metal rubbed on metal) so everytime you moved, it would squeak.

having plastic instead of metal seems like such a downgrade in quality of materials, but does it eliminate the squeaky-ness?

if any of you guys have also used the new sportfolio for the 17" macbook pro, please chime in.
