Today i had the opportunity to compare two AWU2 from actual production (both natural titanium).
The one (my own) was made in Vietnam, the other one in China.
There were differences in built quality of the cases of both watches. Unfortunately i missed taking photos, but i can describe the differences quite exact. The watch was returned.
On my own watch the antenna ring fits perfectly into the case. There are no sharp edges visible on the titanium. Same i can say for the crown, where the orange inlay fits perfectly into the digital crown. I would call this Apple-Standard.
On the watch from China in contrast the edges of the antenna enclosure were oviously not deblurred all around the case. They looked rough and blinked terrible unter light. Same problem occured on the enclosure of the crown inlay. I would call this "cheap".
Also the pressure point of the side button was bad on this watch.
The watches were both bought from serious source. So i think they chinese watch is not fake.
As a watch collector i have a view on workmanship and the chinese AWU2 is at least one level lower regarding workmanship than the AWU2 built in vietnam.
Did anyone of you notice similar issues? Is this a common (known) problem?
