I have a library of about 2,000 songs, and iTunes Match matched about 85% of them, with about 10% being purchased from the store and the rest uploaded. Problem is, the volume of the uploaded songs varies a bit from the songs matched and purchased. Does turning on "Sound Check" in iTunes preferences affect songs stored in the cloud (not stored on my computer), and if not, is there any way to solve this problem?

I have noticed the same thing. Songs in my library labeled with "AAC Audio file" in the 'Kind' column are almost twice as loud as those labeled as "matched AAC Audio file". When a playlist is in shuffle mode, this is a bad problem.
