Hello folks,

I installed an app called Dockmate recently, it had the option of hiding the menu bar icon, which I did, but now the problem is I needed to change a setting but I can't get to the preferences pane because the app is not in the menu bar or the dock, and when I click on it in Apps in finder it doesn't open anything, as in no app window opens. It's running fine, but is there a way to get to its preferences pane when I can't access it normally? Is there a way to reset an app's preferences maybe?

I found out that if you don't know where the app is located, but you have hidden the menu bar icon - you can show that icon again by logging out from your user, then log back in. Dockmate's menubar will appear for about 30 seconds after you login to your user, so you can access the Dockmate settings from that menu.
I would suggest that you leave the menubar icon visible - at least until you have decided on the best settings to use.
Another choice would be to leave the app in a more convenient location, as launching that app also causes the menubar icon to appear for a few seconds. It does that instead of opening an app window.

Nice one, that worked, thanks.
