I just read through about 15 pages of a post from XP about the ATi Radeon 2600 PRO thats in some of the 1 year iMacs as not really a 2600 PRO but in fact an ATI 2600XT chipset video card..

Now the question I have and some others would benefit from is concerining vista.

Can someone who has done this explain..

When you install Vista 32 or 64 Windows sees it as 2600XT and there is a driver for it from windows update even., but if you go to ATi website and download the drivers and the cataylst the driver will install but the Catalyst software will NOT install.

You will not have access to tweaking any settings of the video card without the catalyst manager. How do we get this installed so we can optimize the card in vista for gaming, or whatever?

If this was explain in other threads with the current version of ATI software please post a link if you would be so kind. Alot of us are trying to install vista but missing a crucial performance hit if we do not do this..

Thanks in advance
