I have never seen a digital photo frame that syncs with smartphones. I must be out of the loop...

If you can, try to download their app and see what you think of the quality. It might not be able to do much without having a frame connected though. The only real issue I can think of would be poor connection signal between the frame and phone, or possibly the app is just poorly designed. Those digital photo frames have always been hit or miss.

Gramma has received a couple of the digital photo frames over the years - the last one is still in the box.
A couple of thoughts first where you hang it needs to have power (so you have a cord now stapled to the wall down to an outlet - they will eventually turn it off to go out, go to bed etc - then it needs to be turned back on. A couple of days later after the novelty has worn off and it gets turned off it never seems to get turned back on. Second unless you want to do all the work pictures never get added updated sorted correctly. It does become a hassle.

I thought they were going to be well received multi pics of the grand kids - even after you do all the work once it gets turned off it never seems to get turned back on. Lesson learned a single image printed and hung in a nice frame gets viewed more.

cSalmon, you have made me feel much better! Often thought about one of these for my 102 year-old mother. But she has no patience with ''new gadgets" so I have been reluctant. She does have photos all over her fridge, and it dawns on me after your observations that that is what she wants! Thanks!

Also, you need to use only photos taken in the same orientation as the frame. IE, if the frame is horizontal, the photos have to have been taken in horizontal orientation. A photo taken by tilting the camera vertically, will not display properly. You need to have a program that can 'fix' the orientation of the photos to fit the frame.
