In posted this in another thread but it's buried in the posts....so,

I'm making a cardboard mockup of the 24" to get a sense of the size in the room. Can anyone tell me what the dimensions of just the front is? From the apple store I can see the overall dimensions are approx 22.5W x 20.5H x 8d. I assume this is the dimension of the overall unit including the foot. The width would be the same but what is the height of the unit from bottom of the chin to the top of the computer (not the screen, the whole face front)?

Thanks;)

I've searched but I can't find a clear answer on the dimensions of the 24". Does the 20.5" height include the foot/stand or is that just for the actual unit?

If it does include the foot can someone measure the size of the iMac unit.

Thanks.

The 20.5" height includes the foot/stand, mine comes in at a shade higher (20.6"), if you tilt the screen at all you will gain a bit in the height. Seems silly to worry about just a tiny amount, but most standard desk enclosures seem to be around 19" high without making modifications... It fits in my desk cubby after trimming down a support brace (which probably just hides my light fixture).

I replaced my g4 box with the 24" with wireless & all the options, I am VERY pleased. Whisper quiet, fast & simply HUGE. You will love it.

Apple's height includes the stand.

Here's how to calculate the height you want:

1. Look at a pic of the 24" and measure the pixels: calculate the ratio of height to width.

2. Apply that ratio to the known width.

(I have calculated the VIEWABLE screen at 20.35" x 12.72", but I know you want the whole case.)

? No answer?

Wow, there are some creative answers here! I figured somone who actually owns one could measure just the case and would have a quick answer....

So, anyone who has one, would you be so kind as to actually measure the front of the unit (chin to top, and side to side) without the foot?

THX!

If you don't know in a week, private message me and I will measure.

I don't have one yet, but I will :)

In terms of Screen Size, it's about the same as my 19" IBM TFT, plus 30% whacked onto the side. Very comfortable viewing size from around 2 feet.

24" iMac Dimensions without stand

I've been wondering the same thing.

I've convinced my aunt to FINALLY ditch her crappy Dell and get a Mac!

She wants a 24" iMac! The space above her desk is pretty narrow, so I'm thinking that removing the base and using a monitor arm with a VESA mount will solve the problem.

I poked around and found some dimensions WITHOUT the stand.

24" iMac without stand: 57cm x 46cm (22.5" x 18.125"), 72cm diagonal (28");
LCD Screen only: 52cm x 32cm (20.5" x 12.5"), 61cm diagonal (24", of course).
