Hi guys,

I've just upgraded my 2.66ghz to a 3.46ghz hex and all seems to have gone well, temps running lower than before and booting up all okay.

However the DIMM 2 slot doesn't seem to be working, I have tried a known working stick of ram in the slot and it doesn't recognise it. It was working fine before the upgrade.

What do you think this could be? Is it a problem with the new CPU?

Thanks

I am using OWC ECC Ram that I bought about 3 years ago, all 3 sticks are working still but none of them will work in DIMM 2.

I'm worried it's a faulty memory controller in the CPU

I'm going to reseat the CPU when I get back home, see if any pins could've got caught too

Update:

Came home and reseated the CPU: turns out there was some dust under it. That simple!

All fixed
