Dire Straits!! Need Adobe Photoshop CS

I am in urgent need for Adobe Photoshop CS for my Finals project next week, does anyone know where I could get a copy of this version at a good price? I have searched the forums already for any direction on where to go and I have even checked Apples homepage for third party software and saw it for 649.00. Finding it at a lower value is ideal, I just have no idea where to look or where to go. I have been working on this project for the last 4 months and all the images I had on the program will not convert for the necessary purposes I need the images for. HELP!!

Since you are a student did you check the apple store for students. You can usually get a great deal If you are a student.

You can get a 30 day trial version of CS from here . This is a full working version but will expire in 30 days.

Thanks for the insight.

Do you or does anyone know the differences between the Academic Version and the Professional version of Adobe Photoshop CS? Would it be worth it to go ahead and buy the professional version for the longrun or do I have an advantage getting a very similar deal being a student?

The two programs are identical. The only difference between them is the price and the stipulation in the license agreement that the academic version only be used in not-for-profit situations.

I'm not sure about this demo but the other demo's I have used have had all the features and no limitations during the trial period.

You can extend the 30 day free trial by deleting the .plist :eek: :D :cool: (I hope I'm not talking about sereals/warez. You can always delete specific files)
 
Will GIMP do the trick. I downloaded it, but haven't had a chance to play around with it. It's free and is said to do everything that Photoshop can do.
 
Sounds like the CS demo is what you were looking for (and I'll add that the identical-to-pro academic versions are a GREAT buy--you can get the entire CS suite for less than Photoshop alone).

But since it sounds like what you're trying to do is convert images from one format to another, here's one more suggestion that may be helpful: Check out the ever-popular GraphicConverter. It has some basic Photoshop-like editing/adjustment abilities (the most useful features being ones best suited to tweaking the color or size of images), and it can open and export basically any image format in existance.

Take a look if you don't already have it--I've found that it often does what all I'd really need Photoshop for at less than 1/10 the price.
