Directv HD DVR

I have a Series 3 tivo which only accepts Mpeg 2 files which is annoying since apple tv accepts MP4. I was wondering if anyone has used the new Directv HD Dvr and whether it accepts Apple Tv formatted movies.

HandBrake will take an MPEG-2 Transport Stream or Program Stream as input, so it should convert them to work on an appleTV. If that helps.

The HR20/21 won't play external video files.
