Whenever I copy something from Books.app, the app encloses the paragraph in quotation marks (American style, replacing native quotation, if any), and adds the string:

"Excerpt from: Author Soandso. "Title of Book". Apple Books.

How do I get rid of this crap? What setting do I use to prevent this from happening?

I copy a lot, and I am tired of cleaning up this juvenile tagging of Apple's.

Why do they claim ownership like this? Why would anyone in their right mind be interested in having this information when copying text?

Can you provide a screenshot? I don’t think I’ve ever seen this. I’ve got almost 300 books in iCloud and do most of my reading in Mac OS and iPhone now.

I don't think you can disable that. It might be a licensing restriction placed on Apple by publishers.

Funny when I send people quotes I usually screenshot it - never copy/paste! lol.

I just Command + Control + Shift + 4 - then cut it out of the screen and paste in iMessages/Email.
