I'm sure many other people have the same annoyance with Aperture and iPhoto and I have not been able to find the answer anywhere. As the title suggests I'm looking for a way to make Aperture not start a slideshow using the play/ pause key on the Apple keyboards.

Any ideas on how to do this?

System Preferences>Keyboard

Check the box that says "Use all F1, F2, etc. keys as standard function keys."

I've thought of that, but that disables the keys system wide, meaning I can't control my music. I'm looking for a way to just disable the slideshow functionality in Aperture while retaining the music controls.
