iPhone Disable disruptive contact info shift-down in Mail app?

Details about device: iPhone 6 Plus on iOS 8.1

The problem: The contact info shift-down is distracting and disruptive when reading through emails in the Mail app. This is a new iOS 8 feature.

What I've tried so far: Looked for a disable feature in the Settings; googled possible Cydia tweaks.
