Disable Email Notification when listening to music?

My 3g will semi-mute and ding when email comes in and I am listening to an audiobook (or song for that matter). I don't care that email came in while listening to music. I do want to be notified that i have a phone call however.

Anyway, it seems that email notification is an all or nothing thing. If i disable it in the control panel, it disables it everywhere. Is there any way, even if jailbroken is required, to disable the notification when the iPod part is active?

Setting- general- sounds then make no sound you you get email.

Like i said, that is an all or nothing thing. I don't want to have to turn off email notifications everytime i listen to music, and then have to turn them back on afterwards. I just want it to be off when the music is on.

Sorry didn't read it right I don't think it will allow you to do that. Sorry no help here.

i have a JB mod called notifications that shows icons on the top of new mail, new sms, new voicemail, or missed calls. You can get that and then just go turn off the sound for mail in settings.
